GENERAL DENTISTRY

At NOVA DENTAL ALLIANCE, the comfort of our patients is our first priority. Special treatment considerations are made for young children, adolescents, individuals with special need, and the elderly to assure they have the best experience possible with our staff and doctors at all our locations. After our patients’ comfort has been achieved, we focus on each tooth’s need. This assures that not only our patients are satisfied but also that they will achieve their best smile with us externally and keep smiling internally.

We strive to offer a variety of oral treatment options that will address each individual’s oral heath needs, these options cover preventive oral care to restorative and cosmetic dentistry:

General Dentistry, Restorative, & Cosmetic Dentistry

Diagnostic (Exam and Diagnosis)

A comprehensive oral exam is performed to identify any potential or existing dental issues.  This process includes a thorough teeth examination, x-rays, and a basic cleaning (use of an ultrasonic scaler is not necessary to remove tartar build-up).  An individualized treatment plan and consultation will follow all comprehensive oral exams in order to educate and provide various options to prevent or treat any dental issues that may exist.

Dental Extraction

A dental extraction removes a tooth from the mouth and can be performed for a variety of reasons, including tooth decay or to make space for an orthodontic treatment.

Dental Fillings

Dental fillings are performed in order to repair structural damage to a tooth caused by tooth decay, toothbrush abrasion, or trauma.

Dental Implant

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed in the mouth’s bone and can replace a missing tooth.  For multiple missing teeth, two or three implants can support a dental bridge that will span over the missing teeth.  Implants are a wonderful pain-free procedure and a great alternative to dentures and dental bridges because they provide a root system whereas dentures and dental implants only replace the missing teeth.

Bonding

Bonding is a cosmetic procedure performed in order to repair a chipped or cracked tooth.  The bonding process consists of applying an enamel-like composite material, such as white composite resin, to the tooth’s surface, sculpting, contouring, and then polishing the material on the tooth in order to make the chip or crack invisible.

Root Canals

A root canal is performed in order to save a tooth where decay has spread to the root chamber of the tooth.  A root canal involves removing the infected pulp within the root chamber of the infected tooth. The empty root chamber is then filled with an antibacterial filling and the tooth is covered with a dental crown for protection.

Dental Crowns

A dental crown/cap is placed over an existing tooth for a variety of reasons.  A dental crown can save a cracked tooth that can not be restored by bonding or protect a tooth with excessive decay that has undergone root canal therapy.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge, similar to partial dentures, is used to replace a missing tooth on individuals who do not want a dental implant.  Dental bridges are fixed and can range from conventional fixed bridges to cantilever bridges and resin-bonded bridges.

 Dentures

Dentures are used as teeth replacement for individuals with no or very few remaining teeth whom do not want to have dental implants to replace their teeth.

 Periodontal/Gum Disease Treatment

Periodontal/gum disease treatment consists of a thorough oral exam, in order to determine the extent of damage caused by gum disease, and a deep cleaning.  A deep cleaning involves using an ultrasonic scaler to remove calculus build-up on the tooth’s surface, as well as, underneath the gums and may require application of local anesthetics depending on the severity of calculus build-up.

Veneers & Lumineers

Veneers & Lumineers is a cosmetic procedure performed to enhance the appearance of teeth.  Veneers (thicker porcelain material) or Lumineers (thinner Cerinate porcelain) are custom made shells placed on top of the front side of existing teeth in order to permanently whiten, align, and repair chipped or gapped teeth without altering the mouth’s structure.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple dental treatment used to change the color of teeth enamel that has experienced fluorosis or stains from medication and/or food.  The most popular and cost friendly method is to use an at-home teeth whitening system with custom made trays, this will whiten teeth dramatically.  An alternative to the at-home teeth whitening system is the in-office chair-side whitening system which involves using LED technology in combination with a gentle bleaching solution to achieve whiter teeth in about two hours (ZOOM).
